The brief
Increase engagement and improve water literacy across a broad family audience at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, where more than 900,000 people attend across 12 days. The challenge wasn't just attracting attention - it was making the key messaging stick.
The idea
Turn a complex topic into an immersive alien-themed world. Kids step into the role of scientists on an extraterrestrial research mission, learning about the water cycle through play and discovery, with a UFO hovering above a stylised Australian landscape as the centrepiece.
The experience
Visitors walked into the craft's command deck and worked through a gesture-activated LED experience wall, the Rain Rush water game, a working dam water station, illuminated wastewater specimen displays and a personalised digital quiz - with a new water cycle song from The Wiggles woven through the world.
The technology
We built out the creative technology - gesture and motion interaction, the LED experience wall, the Rain Rush game and a personalised quiz engine with live data capture, all wired into the broader physical fabrication.
The result
One of the most popular stands at the show with daily queues. 30,000+ merchandise items distributed, 13,000+ people engaging with the interactive experiences, quiz completions 220% above target at an 83% completion rate, and nearly 10,000 data points captured. Sydney Water's first ever Best Stand win.
